Hi, I’m Rhea (she/her)
Welcome! I am a dietitian who specializes in disordered eating and eating disorder recovery. I have worked in both higher level and outpatient settings since 2018. I am passionate about quality of life, a ‘fuller’ picture of recovery and understanding that it is about the food and it is not about the food. I completed my masters in nutrition studying quality of life in eating disorder treatment and I am a certified eating disorder specialist through the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals.
I currently offer virtual sessions for AB, BC, SK, and ON.
Areas of Practice
-
This is all encompassing, if your relationship with food is impacting your quality of life, you deserve support. There is no need to have a formal diagnosis to explore. I am open to and confident in providing support for all disordered eating experiences and levels of intensity.
-
Attuned eating involves exploring what impacts your relationship with food. With accomodations, validation, support, compassion, we are working towards building a peaceful relationship with food for you. This looks different for everyone. We may be exploring self-trust, interoceptive awareness, routine building, quality of life etc. Your path is unique.
-
Your body and/or your relationship with food is not the problem. I am comfortable holding space for your story. I acknowledge that systems exist that impact how food and bodies are treated in our society. My hope is to support you with exploring your experience and in that challenge societal norms that create barriers for you and explore accomodations as needed.
Approach
I value building relationships where people feel seen and heard in their experience with food and their body. I meet each individual where they are at and ‘push’ while maintaining autonomy. I value understanding, curiosity, and creating a space where open communication is accessible and we break down the common ‘power dynamic’ that exists between dietitians and clients.
Curiosity
Through every step, I focus on curiosity - why these behaviours exist, what needs are they meeting, what are your strengths, where do you need more support.
Autonomy
I value autonomy and will always move forward with you in mind. I want you to be centered and heard.
